The Flowers – a musical narrative of beauty and emotions embedded in nature.
Flowers have fascinated artists for centuries, treated as symbols not only of the beauty of nature, but also of emotions and feelings such as love, longing, hope, and wonder. This project invites listeners into a world of songs that explore human emotions, spirituality, and reflection on ephemeral beauty.
The program features art songs for soprano and solo piano works by Polish, German, British, and French composers. Regardless of era or nationality, each of these composers employed floral imagery to express what is most subtle and, at the same time, most difficult to articulate in words.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the distinguished pianist Szczepan Kończal, a specialist in the performance of Fryderyk Chopin’s music. The repertoire includes works by Zygmunt Noskowski, Franz Schubert, Bolko von Hochberg, as well as British and French composers who introduce lightness, lyricism, and impressionistic sound colors into the repertoire.
The Flowers is a musical journey through the realms of nature and emotion, reminding us of the importance of sensitivity to beauty and responsibility for the world that surrounds us.
